MILKY WAY

If you look at the sky on a clear, dark night, away from light pollution, you will see a faint band of light crossing the skies. This is the Milky Way, home to our Solar System. Here there are at least 200 billion other stars (more recent estimates put the figure at around 400 billion) and their planets, thousands of clusters and nebulae, including at least almost all objects in Messier's catalog that are not galaxies ( one could consider two globular clusters as possible exceptions, as they are being, or have recently been, incorporated or imported into our Galaxy, coming from dwarf galaxies that are currently passing through our Milky Way: M54, from the dwarf elliptical galaxy of Sagittarius, and possibly Canis Major dwarf M79. All objects in the Milky Way orbit around a common center of mass, called the Galactic Center.

The Serra da Freita, not being Dark Sky, still makes it possible to obtain good photographic records. In this Workshop, we intend to share with you how to photograph the milky way, helping to define the parameters to be used using the methods of the rule of 500 and/or the NPF.

We will discuss how the use of apps for smartphones can help to plan this type of photography, using Photopills.

We will also have the opportunity to do a star trail.

PHOTOGRAPHY HIGHLIGHTS

FAQs

What support will I have from photographic leaders?
In the photo details workshops leaders rarely photograph so that they can be 100% available to participants. There will be times when they will photograph side by side with the participants and share frames, composition and advisable settings.
The program says that the transportation is on account of each participant, will it be possible to share vehicles?
Yes, it will not only be possible, but also desirable. Usually with the participants who have facebool profile this issue is approached a few days before the workshops in order to combine hitchhiking with each other and share their costs.
How should we proceed with meals not included?
All logistical issues during the program are already adequately ensured.
What do I need to bring regarding photographic equipment, and what about clothing?
With your registration and booking will be sent a detailed program where all these issues are addressed.
